ABOUT
As our name suggests, the personality of Provenance Vineyards is unveiled in Napa Valley vineyards of distinct origin, representing the highest fruit quality in the region.
PROFILE
Elegant, complex and layered, the palate is dark and dense, saturated with blackberry, black currant and black cherry alongside espresso bean and graham cracker notes. The firm cocoa-powder tannins – a signature of Rutherford dust character – enhance the velvet texture and well-balanced structure, providing a mineral-rich finish.
VINEYARD
Wildwood Vineyard is located on the east side of the Rutherford AVA with personalities distinctly different from west-side Rutherford vineyards.
WINEMAKING
We cold soaked the must for gentle extraction and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Following extended maceration and pressing, the wine completed malolactic fermentation in barrels to round the acidity and enrich the mouthfeel. Gentle rackings naturally clarified the wine, while barrel aging melded complex oak nuances with the ripe, dark-fruit expression.
